Ag Vasilios is a small hamlet set above the larger village of Kato Korakiana approximately 20 minutes by car from Corfu Town and the airport. Buses run from the main road in both directions, south to Corfu Town and north to Kassiopi and beyond. Gouvia Marina is a 10 minute drive.

Kato Korakiana is a ‘year round’ village and typically Greek. There is a supermarket which supplies fresh bread daily and a larger supermarket at Tzavros which also has a Post Office, both 5 minutes away. Kato Korakianna has two tavernas and two cafe/bars.

The nearest seaside resort is Dassia which lies at the bottom of the village.

To the North

Glyfa (15 minutes) with it’s charming taverna and small private beach

Agni (25 minutes) where you have three tavernas to chose from including the acclaimed Agni Taverna

Kalami (30 minutes) with a large beach and numerous tavernas and the famous Durrell’s ‘White House’ which is now a restaurant

Kouloura (32minutes) a gem of a fishing harbour with a fish taverna

Kerasia (34 minutes) a very long beach with an excellent taverna

Ag Stephanos (35 minutes) which is a chic harbour side resort

Kassiopi (40 minutes) a larger town with shops, restaurants and an attractive harbour

Of course the best way to explore most of these places is by boat and ‘day boats’ are readily available to hire There are dozens of little uninhabited bays where you can anchor, swim and have a picnic on the beach. Or you can visit one of the bays with tavernas sitting by the sea, all of them with jetties where you can moor up and enjoy a relaxing traditional Corfiot feast.
